Goodbye Dear Man

My father-in-law passed away early this morning in his sleep. He'd been in palliative care for 11 days and when we were at the hospital last night, he was in such pain and had tremendous confusion. But he had a wonderful lucid moment where he recognized my son, called him by name and smiled. I'm glad we were there.

We cannot thank the staff enough for their care and respect. We're glad his time of suffering has ended. We will miss him.

My thoughts are with you and the family.
